Rich Kids International Teaches Kids About Money Through Camp Millionaire Program and Other Initiatives

Share

"Teach kids about money at home while they're young, or see them file bankruptcy after college. It's parent's choice!"

Jamille Hamlet, founder of Rich Kids International (Press Release) - Jamille Hamlet wasn't taught about money during her own childhood. So after teaching herself, she made a commitment to teach as many kids as possible how to create wealth earlier than later. Soon enough, she created Rich Kids International - an organization designed to teach children and adults successful money habits in order to obtain financial freedom.

The organization is made up of several programs, including: Camp Millionaire(TM) for Kids/Teens, Camp Millionaire(TM) for Girls, Moving Out for Teens, Creative Cash at School, and Creative Wealth for Women.

Camp MIllionaire(TM), being the flagship program, is an innovative day camp that teaches kids about money in a fun, entertaining way! Using interactive games, activities and role playing, kids learn the basic time-tested principles of creating financial freedom.

Hamlet comments, "Our programs are making a difference! And we're doing it in an environment that is fun, entertaining and full of motion...the way kids (and most adults) learn best."

Through her programs, she addresses the following factors:

1) The Education Myth:
Parents think that schools should teach it. Teachers think the parents should teach it. Fact is, less than 10% of high school graduates are taking courses on money management and when they do, its often how to balance a checkbook or maybe how to budget. They rarely learn that in order not to have to "work" for a living, they have to develop streams of passive income to meet the monthly expenses of their chosen lifestyle.

2) Money + Stress = Divorce!
Money issues are the number one cause of divorce in this country. If people are talking about it, there is a better chance of making families stronger.

3) Kids are easy to teach!
When given the information and shown why it's relevant to their lives, kids usually make great decisions with money. No stories, no excuses; they just start saving, start businesses, research stocks and real estate and get to it.

4) Getting out of debt surpasses losing weight as the number one New Year's Resolution in 2010!
If kids are not taught how to avoid getting into debt in the first place, Americans are going to continue getting into debt at unprecedented rates! Young adults under 25 are the fastest growing age group filing bankruptcies and many college students are graduating with consumer debt (credit card) and student loans totaling $30,000 or more. This is a painful position from which to start one's new life after college.
